I want to ensure there is a sense of trust and transparency by keeping the community informed. I want to serve as a representative for the parents, students, employees and community as a whole.
As an active member of the community, I am present at school events throughout our district. This presence is necessary to keep an ear to the ground, stay connected, and understand what’s most important to our school community.
I always want to hear from you! I can’t advocate for you and we can’t move forward together if I don’t first understand what’s going well and what isn’t. I will ensure you can easily and openly share feedback, I’ll work to understand all sides, address topics with the full Board, and report back to you.
The Atlanta Regional Commission has stated that Coweta will grow by 76,000 people by 2050. We must make sure that we are planning for future growth. Thank you, Cowetans, for passing the continuation of ESPLOST in November 2021! This will help accommodate the growth of our schools.
Apart from ESPLOST, I will work hard to allocate the annual school budget and resources appropriately, advocating not only for the county schools as a whole but for the schools within District 4 (White Oak, Canongate, Arnall, Blake Bass, and Northgate).
This means allocating resources that build our academics, athletic programs, and other school activities to ensure we are competitive in all these areas.
I’m proud of the steps our school system has taken to improve safety for all stakeholders. From School Resource Officers to implementing new safety protocols and procedures to upgraded safety components of our buildings, our schools prioritize safety and security.
It is important to partner with parents to be proactive about the mental health of our students. As parents, we need to continue advocating for the mental well-being of our children.
I’m a true proponent of listening first, acting second. I will thoughtfully consider all viewpoints, and respectfully discuss options and possible actions with all Board members.
We have great successes to celebrate! Let’s continue to increase those great graduation rates from Northgate and those exceptional test scores from our elementary and middle schools, too. Let’s strengthen our athletic and extra-curricular activities.
The goal is for all students to have an enjoyable, fruitful school journey and to be able to pursue the path they want after high school, whether that means entering the workforce or beginning their post-secondary education.
I ask for your vote to represent Coweta County School Board, District 4, in May 2022.
I am excited and honored to support the Coweta County School System in District 4 in 2023. Please stay tuned for more updates in the months ahead! - Rob
